The Mi'kmaq Cross
Bead Applique Moose Antler Cabochon Necklace Pendant is 4" long x 2 1/2" wide, 20 inch chain, total length from top to bottom is 18 1/2 " Antler was traditionally used by Aboriginal people to adorn themselves and their clothing. In this piece ,the antler becomes an expression of my culture; a reflection of my ancestry, weaved into contemporary jewelry. This piece is based on the Mi'kmaq cross or Bay d' Nord Cross which is located at the Baie du Nord on Newfoundland and Labradors Southwest Coast. The cross is regarded as a sacred spiritual site, predominately by the Miawpukek Mi'kmaq and secondary by the other Mi'kmaq outside of Miawpukek.

hello, Beautiful work! I'm wondering if you are still taking orders on this site.
I have mi'kmaq ancestors from that area and would love something to wear in ceremony out on the west coast that reflects my eastern roots. The cross you have created is so perfect, I wonder if you might make another, assuming this one is spoken for. Thanks so much
